The World Football governing body, FIFA is sending one of its widely experienced football consultants, Mr. Thomas Grimm to Uganda to preside over the two day workshop for the FUFA Super League compliant clubs.
Grimm is a FIFA Consultant and specialist in Leagues and clubs Management. He is a former President of the Swiss Football League (SFL) and a Lawyer by profession. FIFA has for so many years been assigning him duties to sensitive countries to take stock of the state of football there. He has been to Palestine, Zambia, Syria, Lebanon and Myanmar among others.
He arrives in the country this Tuesday evening aboard Brussels Airlines. FIFA has also designated Eng. Leodgar Tenga, a CAF Executive member and Cecafa Regional President as the second facilitator of this workshop. Tenga too, arrives this Tuesday. The workshop is part of the FIFA strategy to strengthen the FUFA Super League.
The workshop to be held at Golf Course Hotel between September 12-13 will dwell much on the League/Club effective Management. Only clubs that have complied with the new FUFA Super League statutes have been invited. These include BUL, Proline, Police, URA, Vipers, Entebbe Young, Kira Young, Express, Victoria University, Water, Victors and Masaka LC.
The three clubs that have turned a deaf ear towards compliance are SC. Villa, Maroons and Simba. These will be locked out of the workshop unless they act in accordance with the current statutes.
Each Club will be represented by its Chairperson and two other officials in decision making positions who will also be managing the club administration on a day-to-day basis. The workshop will also be attended by all the FUFA Super League Board Members.
