The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Goal project 4 at Fufa Technical Center in Njeru has been completed and officially handed over to the local football governing body FUFA on Monday 20 July 2015 by the Infratech Consultants and Kabbs Technical Services.
The FUFA Technical Centre is now a one stop point for any stakeholder who would wish to hold any football related activities there.
The FIFA Goal Project 4 includes a new administration block, Pavilion and completion of the Perimeter wall around the technical center.
The construction took fifteen months.
Edgar Watson, the Fufa CEO, said;
We call upon all football stakeholders to come and use this facility so that football can gain something on its trend to development in Uganda. On behalf of FUFA we thank FIFA for extending the helping hand to us to see this fourth Goal Project completed.
Director InfraTech Consultants Ltd Ibrahim Kabugo was in attendance during the handover ceremony and believes the work was done according to FUFA’s expectation.
Ibrahim Kabugo;
I believe we have achieved and did the work according to FUFA’s expectation. It took us 15 months to complete this project that comprise of Administration block, Pavilion and the finishing Perimeter Wall.
FIFA Goal Projects enable member associations to fulfill developments to advance football in their respective countries.
FIFA awarded Uganda the $320,000 grant based on their event management performance, financial discipline and popularity of the game of football in the country.
The closing ceremony was also witnessed by other FUFA officials Sam Lwere-FUFA Executive Committee Member, Esther Musoke-FUFA Marketing Director, Asuman Lubowa-FUFA Technical Director and Ahmed Hussein-FUFA Spokes Person.
