FIFA Grassroots course climaxes on Friday at FUFA Technical center

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) Grassroots coaching course has on Friday ended at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The five days’ long course that started on Monday 21st September climaxed on Friday 25th September 2015 at the Fufa Study Centre in Njeru.

Thirty two participants took part in the course and covered theory and practical course units under the stewardship of FIFA instructor, Thondoo Govinden from Mauritius.

According to Mr. Asuman Lubowa, the director in charge of Technical Matters at FUFA, who also monitored the progress of the course is thrilled with the way the course has been conducted.

“We covered everything on program and in time with these coaches and we urge them to go to exercise what they have been taught.” He said

Meanwhile Jinja District Sports officer, Moses Mutakisa, was the chief guest during the closing ceremony he commended FUFA and FIFA for having chosen Eastern region to host the course.

I want to thank FUFA and FIFA for having chosen us in Eastern region particularly Jinja to host this course and above all choosing on our teachers from various primary schools within our area. For teachers who have taken on the course I want to thank you for committing yourselves but don’t go back and sit after getting these certificates. I would advise you to execute what you have learnt to your respective schools by helping these pupils to develop their talents.As hosts, we shall do the needful to mobilise pupils during the launch on Saturday at Main street primary school playground to be there in big numbers

He also used the platform to warn head teachers for ignoring sports in their institutions.

“There is no reason why many head teachers ignores sports yet it’s on curriculum and must be on the school time table.”

This is the second Grass root coaching coach conducted by fifa and FUFA in a space of two years with the first being held at imperial Royale hotel last year.

On Saturday, the grass root football will be launched in the region at Main street Primary school with over 500 pupils from various schools expected to attend the functions.
