FIFA RANKINGS: Uganda improves, reclaims top position in CECAFA region

The Uganda Cranes’ memorable 1-0 win over Nigeria at the Akwa Ibom stadium, Uyo has given them an improvement in the latest Coca Cola FIFA rankings released on Thursday (9th April 2015).

Uganda was 74th last month but has now moved up two places to 72nd and become the best ranked country in the CECAFA region.

Nigeria who lost to Uganda last month is 45th.

World champions Germany are on top of the rankings while reigning African champions Ivory Coast -23rd.

Rwanda had enjoyed the summit in the region for a few months.

Uganda Cranes opponents in the AFCON 2017:

Burkina Faso (66), Botswana (104), Comoros (186)

Uganda won the game 0-1, thanks to Faruku Miya’s goal in the 81st minute and the result has had an adverse impact on the FIFA ranking for the Cranes.
