FIFA RANKINGS: Uganda Now Ranked 73rd

Uganda Cranes is now 73rd on the latest Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) Coca cola rankings.

The rankings were released on 9th July 2015 from Zurich, the home of FIFA.

Uganda is now 73rd with 467 points, a slip two places despite winning two games against Botswana (AFCON 2017 qualifier) and Tanzania (first leg CHAN 2016 qualifier).

Uganda still remains the best ranked nation in the CECAFA region.

Rwanda rose 16 places to 78th and Sudan rose 18 places to 90th.

Tanzania, who lost to Uganda 4-1 in the CHAN 2016 qualifiers on aggregate have dropped 12 slots to number 139th.

Meanwhile, Uganda’s 2017 AFCON qualifiers opponents Burkina Faso, Botswana and Comoros are ranked 72nd, 120th and 187th respectively.

Algeria remains the highest ranked nation on the African continent in 19th .

The top five countries in the world are; Argentina, Germany, Belgium, Colombia and Netherlands.

The next FIFA Rankings will be released on 9th August 2015.
