First Leg: Uganda Vs Ethiopia

At Star Times Stadium, Lugogo (4:00 PM)

Uganda takes on Ethiopia in the first leg of the first round of the FIFA U17 Women World Cup 2020 at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo this Saturday on January 11th, 2019.

The team this morning switched base from the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru where it has camped since Friday, January 3rd, 2019.

After conducting the morning training session at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo, the team checked-in at the Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi where it is accommodated until after the game.

In his remarks, Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi emphasized the importance of scoring and winning with a handsome goal margin.

This will will take pressure off the team ahead of the return leg. The session at Lugogo on Thursday majorly focused on building and executing attacks.

We want to score and win the game with as many goals on Saturday because a bigger scoreline will relieve us of any pressure going into the return leg away from home. Overtime in camp we have touched almost every detail but today, and in our last training session tomorrow emphasis will be centered on attacks because we need those goals and in plenty’ Khalifa noted.

Uganda U17 players stretch

The return leg will be played in a fortnight in Addis Ababa.

The winner over both legs progress will progress to the next round to face between Burundi and Tanzania in the second round.
