The weekend is here and the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League is here with match day 17 serving us six super exciting fixtures as club get to the pitch fighting to win matches to serve their different objectives.

She Corporate who last weekend ended a three match winless streak with a win against She Maroons will now take on relegation threatened Tooro Queens who lost to fellow strugglers Olila Women HS WFC at home in Fort Portal. A win for either side will improve their survival chances as the league heads into crucial stages.

The Prison wardresses who have struggled for results in the second round will host Wakiso Hill WFC a side that is almost losing the battle relegation. Wakiso Hill trapped in the relegation zone the entire period have not won a game and only afforded five draws. She Maroons will start life without coach Simon Peter Ochuka who was relieved of his duties in the course of the week owing to poor run of results. Wakiso Hills on the other hand are still looking for their first win.

Mid-table sides Makerere University WFC and Riness SS WFC face off at the university playground with either side looking to improve their position on the standing hoping for a better finish as the league nears the season end. Makerere coming from an emphatic 6-1 win against Wakiso Hill last weekend will be hoping to replicate the same form against a rather stubborn Rines side.

At the MTN Omondi stadium, the unbeaten table leaders of Kampala Queens will be looking to strengthen their grip at the summit as they host 3rd placed Lady Doves FC who beat second placed Kawempe Muslim Ladies last weekend to leap frog Amus College WFC on into the 3rd. Lady Doves boasting of league top scorer Resty Kobusobozi will be hoping they can get a result off the Queens of Soccer to put pressure on second placed Kawempe Muslim who take on Olila HS WFC on Sunday.

On Sunday the Kiddawalime girls of Uganda Martyrs Ladies welcome Amus College WFC at their fortress, the St. Gerald stadium in what promises to be a very interesting encounter. Uganda Martyrs has had a very good second round that has had them transform from the bottom half side into one that is challenging one chasing the leading pack. Whereas Amus want to wrestle back the 3rd place they surrendered to Lady Doves last weekend, Uganda Martyrs Ladies on the other hand want to close the gap onto the 4th and 3rd place.

Having lost to Lady Doves last weekend and eight points adrift the top with one more game played the defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies now seem to be playing for pride and just don’t want the gap between them and run away leaders to grow any bigger. Kawempe Muslim Ladies host Olila HS WFC a side that is still locked in the relegation struggle with Tooro Queens and She Corporate. A second consecutive win on the road may further improve their survival chances.
