Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League; Matchday 6 Preview, She Corporate Hosts Kawempe In A Top-Of-The-Table Clash

Matchday 6 promises intriguing action as the top four sides face off against each other. While the talk of the title race may seem premature, a positive result in these fixtures could well be a catalyst on the road to success for either side. Six fixtures are spread across the weekend, with two matches on Saturday and four on Sunday.

On Saturday, St Noa Girls-Zana FC welcome Kampala Queens FC while Uganda Martyrs take on Rines SS WFC.

Debutants St Noa Girls-Zana FC who are winless in the last three matches host defending Champions Kampala Queens at Muteesa II stadium in a crucial encounter. Having won 5-0 to Olila, last time out, the queens will come into this game with much confidence. Fortunately, they have the most in form forward Kamiyati Naigaga in their ranks, who is on a five-game-scoring streak and crowned player of month for October. With his creative midfield unit in top form and firing from all cylinders, Firew Asefa who made a year at the palace on Tuesday, will be confident of securing a positive result.

However, in St Noa, the queens are going to face one of the most demanding teams in the league. Their attack has been outstanding, boasting the ability to trouble any side in the league. With forwards Dorcus Lwalisa and Patricia Nayiga leading the charge, they will be looking to get back on track. However, Coach Tonny Mawejje will need to strengthen his defense, which has been vulnerable lately.

Still on Saturday, Uganda Martyrs will look to build on their momentum and spring further up the log when they host Rines SS WFC at St Gerald’s Ground, Lubaga. The hosts, building on their impressive recent form, will hope the collective effort, spearheaded by Brenda Munyana and Nusulah Nakintu will yield their first home win.  On the other hand, Rines, familiar with the Lubaga based outfit from school football, will look to leverage that knowledge to put up a strong fight and claim their first win of the season.

Matchday six will conclude on Sunday, She Corporate FC host Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, Amus College WFC welcome Lady Doves FC, Asubo Ladies FC take on Olila H/S WFC while She Maroons entertain Makerere University WFC.

She corporate FC and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC face off in an epic top of the table clash at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru. Both teams have made impressive starts, remaining unbeaten thus far. The sharks remain solid at home with maximum points but Kawempe equally has a flawless away record, racking up maximum points on the road. They are all level on 13 points, but sharks hold the edge with a superior goal difference of 8, compared to 6 of the warriors. Interestingly, both team’s attacks have been clinical and ruthless this season, making a significant impact. The forwards have been in scintillating form, with every single one of them already earning the woman of the match honors.  With the leagues meanest defenses facing off, both coaches are aware that the stakes are high.

‘We know it will be a tough game, but we have worked hard to get here, we taking it game by game, focusing on playing good football, but most importantly, getting the three points at home’ said Ininahazwe Belyse, Head Coach, She Corporate FC.

His counterpart Ayub Khalifa equally believes it will not be an easy game,

‘They have had a good start, but we are confident in our players abilities, we will stick to our game plan and aim to pick maximum points’

She corporate will hope the attacking trio Sandra Kisakye, jesca Namanda and former warrior’s player Rebecca Nakato deliver another impressive performance to unlock the visitors defense while Kawempe will rely on the firepower of Latifah Nakasi, Agnes Nabukenya and Jovia Nakagolo to secure a positive result.

At Kampala Quality Ground, Asubo Ladies FC, who have shown recent improvement, will be keen to claim their first win when they host Olila H/S WFC. The hosts will pin their hopes in Shadia Babirye and collective teamwork to trouble Olila’s defense while the visitors will look to build on promise, they have shown in the recent games to get a positive result. This match promises to be an intense affair, with both teams desperate to climb out of the drop zone.

Elsewhere, Amus college WFC will hope to steady the ship when they host Lady Doves FC who are still searching their breakthrough win at Amus College stadium. Both teams have had uneven starts to the campaign, but they will be looking to flip the script. It’s a tight contest as both teams desperately need the points.

At Prison Ground, Luzira. She Maroons FC and Makerere University WFC face off with both team’s hungry to get back on track. With individual brilliance on either side, home advantage could prove decisive in this contest.
