FORMER CRANES STAR OKETCH PASSES AWAY

Former Uganda Cranes captain Parry Oketch has passed away at Gulu regional referral hospital. Oketch who captained the National senior team-Uganda Cranes in the 60s passed away at today morning (4am).

His body has been transferred to Gulu barracks mortuary. The family of the late Parry Oketch will meet later today and release burial arrangements.

However burial will be held in his ancestral home in Pageya, Gulu.

‘The death of Oketch will leave a big gap in Ugandan football. His words of wisdom always encouraged many young players from Northern region to strive hard while on the pitch. It is a sad day in our football’ said FUFA CEO Edgar Watson

In honour of the departed star, FUFA has asked the two teams in Sunday’s Cranes Na Mutima match at Pece stadium in Gulu to observe a minute of silence and also wear black armbands.
