Former FUFA General Secretary (GS), Haruna Mawanda is admitted at Kampala International Hospital under critical health condition following a motor accident yesterday evening.
Mawanda who lies unconscious on the hospital bed was travelling on a boda-boda when an over speeding vehicle knocked them at Najjanankumbi along Entebbe road.
Both the cyclist (not yet identified) and the former GS were saved by the pedestrians who informed police and rushed them to Mulago Government referral hospital.
Mawanda was however later moved to Kampala International hospital where he remains admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
According to family sources, Mawanda sustained deep cuts on the head that resulted into excessive bleeding. The hospital Medical team is however doing the best to save his life. May he have a quick recovery.
Mawanda is also a member of the CECAFA Regional standing committee in charge of the youth, women and Futsal.
