Friday Fixtures: FUFA Super League
Soana v Kira Young
Entebbe v Vipers
Bright Stars v CRO
BUL v Simba
History favors Entebbe FC ahead of their fixture with Vipers FC in the FUFA super League at Wankulukuku stadium. But whisper this to your friend-Entebbe FC is the only team yet to win a game in the FUFA Super League this season. Two wins for Entebbe FC and a draw is what the statistics read. But Vipers who are neck to neck with URA FC in the title race this season, they don’t want to drop any more points. Last week, Vipers dropped two crucial points against newcomers Bright stars FC in Kitende. But with history against them, they will need to be careful when seeking their first win over Entebbe who are trying to fight for their dear lives in the top flight.
Like it has been in the past three meetings, Vipers started the game as favorites but the results read differently.
Vipers has been undergoing rigorous training sessions and they need to reclaim top position they lost to URA FC after their hard earned 1-1 draw with Express FC.
Vipers are haunted by the jinx of having not beaten Entebbe ever since the latter joined the top flight ranks.
With the team news, Entebbe Fc will miss only one player Siraje Ssentamu who is suspension following his double caution against Masaka LC. Head coach Matia Lule should be buoyed by a healthy squad free from injuries.
The Vipers squad has Watenga Ismail who is set to maintain his slot in the goal posts while Malunda Musa shifts to the right back position in the absence of Wadada Nicholas who arrives tonight from Zambia after playing for Uganda Cranes in an international friendly. Seku Ronald will partner Ssali Edward in central defence after suspension & injury lay off respectively.
Vipers will also welcome back Ssentamu Yunus who has been sidelined by malaria together with Simon Serunkuuma who missed the match against Bright Stars match due a knock he picked up during training prior to Viper’s last match.
Kimuli Robert, Baliinya Juma, Muhammed Abdallah, Mpande Joseph together with Okhuti Ceasar and Miya Farouq are also available for selection.
Man to watch: Kinene Yusuf – He has scored for Entebbe in each of the previous three meetings against Vipers scoring 4 goals in the process. Vipers’ defenders must be on alert.
