The FUFA Big League (FBL) 2013/14 second round will kick off today (Thursday) at various grounds around the country. The 6 matches on card are:
Mbale Heroes v Rwenshama
Jinja MC v Ngora Freda Carr
Hope Doves v Kumi University
Soroti Garage v Busia United
VCC v Vurra
Ndejje University v Gulu University
Today’s action will closely be followed by another five matches on Saturday 15th February 2014:
Kirinya-Jinja SS v Sadolin Paints
Soroti Garage v Rwenshama
Mvara Boys v Wandegeya
Mutundwe Lions v Lweza at 10:00 am in Lubiri
The Saints v Vurra at 2:00 pm, UCU Mukono playground instead of Namboole which will host KCC v El Merreikh in the Orange CAF Champions League return leg.
Meanwhile for the first time in the history of the FBL, FUFA has introduced prize money in the competition arising out the branding rights sponsorship from Airtel Uganda. Clubs will henceforth not contribute to referees’ allowances as has been the case.
The following prizes are at stake this season:
1. FBL winner Shs. 1,000,000=
2. Each FBL Club promoted to the FSL Shs. 1,000,000=
3. Play Off loser Shs. 500,000=
4. Individual awards for 6 @ 250,000= Shs. 250,000=
5. Clubs’ share (referees’ contribution) Shs. 33,150,000=
