Lweza FC from have been promoted to the FUFA Super league. Lweza who were playing in the Rwenzori group of the UFA Big League thrashed Vvura FC 11-0 at the Uganda Clays grounds at Kajjansi on Thursday.
Francis Ssembatya netted a hattrick, Saad Kibirango notched two goals before a goal apiece from Rajab Kakooza, Fred Kalanzi, Mathias Kisitu, Farouk Musisi, Ddumba Sadala ad John Kisakye helped Lweza to their biggest victory of the season.
“It is an honour to join the most elite football league in the country. We shall work hard to maintain the form and stay there for years”, Vialli Bainomugisha, Lweza’s coach said after the game.
They join Sadolin Paints (Elgon Group) as the other team that won automatic qualification to the top flight.
In the other game played at Buziga Islamic grounds, Martin Muwanga scored 4 times in Baza Holdings’ 0 – 6 away victory to Artland Katale to cement second place in the Rwezori group.
Brian Ntege and Isma Nsubuga got Baza Holdings others goals. Sadolin Paints, who already qualified won 3 -2 at home in Bugembe, Jinja.
In the other games played, VCC lost 1 – 3 to Wandegeya at Kitezi play grounds while Mbale Heroes were condemned to the regional league following their 1 – 4 home loss to Ngora Freda Carr at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.
The play-off dates and fixtures to determine the third team promoted will be communicated.
