The FUFA Competitions committee on Wednesday confirmed the demotion of Elgon group Big league team, Mutundwe Lions FC to the Rubaga 4th football division.
‘Mutundwe Lions missed three games and going by the Competition rules, article 25, section 8b, they are relegated to 4th division’ Ali Mwebe, secretary of the FUFA Competitions committee told the media at the weekly press conference held at Mengo.
Mwebe also communicated on the teams that have been docked off points for failure to honour their respective fixtures without genuine reasons.
Masaka LC FC vs Kirinya: The visiting team objected match officials appointed in accordance with Art 21(11) of FCR, therefore the FCC invoked Art 21(18) of the same rules and Kirinya JJ SS lost the match to Masaka LC by forfeiture.
Children’s Restoration Organization (CRO) loses their match against Baza Holdings (fixture no.19) by three points and three goals and have been docked three points for failing to travel for the match.
In the same way, VCC, who abandoned their fixture against Artland K (fixture no. 63) at the half way mark for fear of insecurity lose the game by three points and three goals.
Artland K was leading 1 – 0 by the time the match was aborted.
Maroons Football Club have been docked three points and three goals in favour of Wandegeya F.C after losing a petition the latter had lodged.
Wandegeya lodged a compliant after their match at Luzira Prisons Stadium accusing Maroons F.C of using their own player, Kamada Lubega who had instead acquired another licence under the names ‘Zlatan Lubega’. The match had ended 0-0.
Meanwhile, the FUFA Big League resumes Thursday, 6th November 2014.
