The Saints football club were the biggest winners from the weekend’s FUFA Big league fixtures held, winning 5 – 0 at home over Soroti Garage at Namboole Stadium.
The Saints scored through Alex Kitata, Fred Kyambadde, Kamada Ssebagala, Vianney Ssekajugo and Moses Okello to move top of the Rwenzori group standings.
In the other Rwenzori fixture, Namasagali beat Paidah Balck Angels 2 – 1 at the Namasagali College play ground in Kamuli.
In the Elgon group:
Mutundwe Lions stand to loose three points and three goals after failing to honour the home game against Masaka’s Synergy football club.
Proline’s goal keeper, Charles Lukwago tries to save a shot from Maroons’ s forward, Brian Akena (not in picture).
At Nakivubo Stadium, Maroons won 2 – 1 over Proline. Paddy Muhumuza’s opener for Proline after 38 minutes was cancelled by Hood Muliki before Brian Akena grabbed Maroons’ winner in the 82nd minute.
At the Masindi Stadium, VCC, who scored through Rashid Kinyini held high flying Jinja s.s to a 1 all draw.
The game between Creamland and Kireka at the Kabale Municipal Stadium was called off on request of the home team.
The FUFA Big league resumes on Thursday (16th October 2014).
