FUFA Big League: The Saints, Maroons win crucial Fixtures

The Saints’ striker Fred Kyambadde scored a vital  goal for the  Rwenzori group table leaders on 69 minutes against Water F.C, at Mengo S.S play ground.

The 1-0 victory put the Namboole based club six points clear of the second placed Jinja Municipal Council, who visit Ngora Freda Carr next Thursday.

There were two home victories in the Rwenzori group for Kumi United (3-0 over Hope Doves) and Ndejje University’s 1-0 win over Namasagali.

Soroti Garage won away from home, overcoming Ngora Freda Carr with a lone strike scored by Ibrahim Orit.

In the Elgon group, leaders Maroons FC maintained their status quo at the table with a 3-0 home win over Kireka United at the Uganda Prisons stadium in Luzira.

Hood Muliiki, Maxwell Okello and Brian Akena were all target for the Uganda Prisons funded outfit.

Busia United fought gallantly to bag three points from their 1-2 away victory over former premier club, Proline Soccer Academy at Nakivubo stadium.

Three teams will qualify for the Azam Uganda Premier league in the 2015/16 season, with the top side per group (Rwenzori and Elgon earning a direct slot before the play offs to determine the third team).

A total of 10 clubs (5 from each group) will be relegated to their respective lower leagues.
