FUFA BIG LEAGUE – Week 7
Thursday, 13th November 2014
Uganda’s second highest tier football league resumes Thursday, 13th November 2014 with 6 fixtures to be played.
2 of these will be played in the Elgon group and the other 4 will be in the Rwenzori group.
Coming into the 7th week, 144 goals have been scored in 72 Rwenzori and Elgon group fixtures.
Elgon Group:
Wandegeya F.C, whose start to the 2014/15 season has been so far disappointing will play host to former Super Division side, Busia United at Kiteezi play grounds.
Three points in the bag for the home team will see them skip the relegation zone for the first time this season.
Another former top elite side, Proline Soccer Academy hosts Kabale’s Cream land at Lugogo Stadium.
Kireka United Football club (not in action on Thursday) leads the Elgon group with 13 points, closely followed by Maroons F.C on 12 points.
Rwenzori Group:
Jinja Municipal Council (JMC) has a chance to displace the table leaders, The Saints F.C from the top of the log when they host Ngora Freda Carr at Kakindu Stadium on Thursday.
The Saints F.C lead the Rwenzori log with 15 points, 2 better of second place JMC though the latter have played a game more.
In the other Rwenzori group fixtures, Ndejje University entertains Hope Doves in Luweero, Paidah Black Angels, who won 2 – 3 last week away to CRO hosts Soroti Garage at the Barokoro Zombo play grounds.
CRO, relegated last season from top flight football hosts a determined Kumi United team, one that picked the hard fought away draw to Ndejje University last week.
Promotion:
The best three teams at the close of the season will be promoted to the elite Uganda Premier League with the top two sides per group earning direct promotion.
Promotional Play offs:
Meanwhile, the third side is determined through play off.
The two teams (per group) that finish behind the winners will play the promotional play offs.
Demotion:
5 teams per group will be relegated to the regional leagues with the bottom 4 going down directly whilst the 5th team per group is determined by a relegation play off.
Uganda Cranes official sponsors, Airtel Uganda are partners partly facilitating the FUFA Big League.
