The FUFA Disciplinary committee, chaired by Mr Ojok Geoffrey Odur with Mr Jacob Lubega (secretary) and Edirisa Kasalirwa has on Tuesday passed a ruling to deduct two points from Sports Villa that they had been rewarded by the Uganda Premier league on 17th April 2015.
SC Villa had been given the two points from their fixture against URA (played on 10th April 2015) which had ended in a 1 all draw.
URA appealed the decision with an appeal document dated 17th April 2015 and a video recording of the fateful game (match 64 – URA vs Soana), together with the UPL referees report forms of the matches 64, 116, 169 and 182.
In a ruling attended by Mr Bernard Bainamani (represented Azam Uganda Premier league), Mr Henry Mayeku and Edward Kulubya (URA) and Mr Ivan Kakembo (SC Villa), the committee was to ascertain whether URA F.C fielded an ineligible player as SC Villa alleged.
The committee exercises the absolute discretion in regard of proof and finds that;
– Kyeyune (the player in question) was indeed yellow carded on match 64 but for the mistake in recording Sekubomba was instead recorded.
– That Kyeyune was actually rested on match 128.
The disciplinary committee has however left the doors open for an appeal for any party not satisfied by the ruling.
