FUFA Drum 2018: West Nile, Ankole Provinces triumphant on match day four

FUFA Drum Match Day Four Results:

Sunday 15th April 2018:

  • Tooro 0-1 West Nile
  • Ankole 3-1 Karamoja
  • Bunyoro 1-1 Bukedi

Saturday 14th April 2018:

  • Rwenzori 1-3 Kampala
  • Buganda 1-3 Lango
  • Kigezi 0-1 Acholi
  • Bugisu 8-0 Sebei
  • Busoga 0-0 Teso

Match day four of the 2018 FUFA Drum Tournament continued on Sunday with three games on the menu across the country.

Tooro Province fell 1-0 at home to West Nile at the Buhinga play ground in Fort Portal.

Alfred Leku, a forward at Express Football Club scored the all important goal for visiting West Nile.

Soana Football Club captain who also doubles as the skipper for the Tooro Province, Timothy Musinguzi was named man of the match despite being on the losing side.

Musinguzi was thereafter handed a plaque and cash (Shs. 100,000) by the FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo.

On the green lush of the Kyamate play ground in Ntungamo, Ankole overcame 3-1 Karamoja before a capacity crowd.

Kodet Ferrer, a player with Jam Football Club in Kotido district put Karamoja Province in the lead after 25 minutes.

The joy was short lived when Mbarara City’s Clinton Kamugisha scored the equalized on the half hour mark as the first half ended one all.

Siraje Turyamureeba netted a penalty upon restart when Kotido Vipers’ Bernard Ochien brought down Joseph Akwandwanaho of Nyamityobora in the forbidden area after 53 minutes.

Hard working forward Muhammed  Matovu, a player at Western Regional league club Rushere capped the icing on the cake with the third goal that drove hundreds of fans at Kyamate into uncontrolled excitement.

Matovu was also named man of the match as he was rewarded with a plaque and cash (100,000/=).

Bunyoro and Bukedi shared the spoils in a one all draw.
