The FUFA Drum 2019 (Quarterfinals – Group B)
Match Day2:
- Acholi 1-0 Buganda
- Bukedi 2-1 Tooro
Hosts Acholi smiled to a 1-0 win over the reigning champions Buganda in group B of The FUFA Drum quarter finals at the Pece War Memorial Stadium on Sunday.
Vipers Sports Club forward Tito Okello netted the lone strike on the evening.
Okello’s goal was a well taken kick from the penalty mark on the hour mark past goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo.
The penalty was awarded by referee Ronald Madanda following a foul in the goal area on Isaac Otto by Ronald Ssekiganda.
Acholi endured a tense climax to hold onto the lead and register maximum points on the evening that take them to three points in group B, same as Bukedi who overcame Tooro in the earlier game on Sunday.
Tito Okello was named man of the match, earning Shs 100,000 and a plaque, handed over by Gulu woman member of Parliament Betty Aol Ocan.
Acholi will return to action on Tuesday against Bukedi as Tooro will face Buganda in the respective group B encounters at Pece War Memorial Stadium.
Meanwhile, action returns with two match day three games at Akii Bua Stadium on Monday, 2nd December 2019.
Lango takes on Busoga during the early kick off and West Nile will play Bugisu in the subsequent fixture.
