FUFA Drum Build up:
- Bunyoro 1-1 Buganda
Bunyoro province is among the teams that will take part in the inter province tournament ( THE FUFA DRUM) that was introduced last year by the federation of uganda football associations.
In preparation for this tournament the province had a launch on 20th January 2018 at Hoima booma ground.
Baker Buyala scored for Buganda as Julius Rulinda replied for the home team in the one all stalemate.
The province unveiled its players to the public and the the newly appointed prime minister of Bunyoro kitara kingdom was the chief guest who represented his highness the Omukama of Bunyoro kingdom.
In his speech, he appealed for transparency and accountability, which are key pillars to promoting the beautiful game.
“We need to work together with the kingdom and the kingdom is ready to give support to football activities” said the prime minister, Owek Andrew Byakutaaga.
There was a trial match between Bunyoro province and Buganda province which ended in a one all draw.
At the same function, the Bunyoro Province Drum Chairman Edgar Agaba who is also the CEO for Rotaries and gaming in Uganda asked the Kingdom to avail land to the sports fraternity in a bid to have a modern stadium constructed in Bunyoro which he said would help in accommodating professional matches like Uganda Premier League.
The momentous event was also graced by the Drum’s National chairman Rogers Byamukama who is also the communication and marketing boss at FUFA,who called upon all the Banyoro to rally behind this team by rendering it the necessary support.
There was lots of fun, entertainment and networking as we celebrate our ancestry since its the theme for this tournament
