FUFA extends CSR activities to UWESO Orphanage Centre in Masulita

The birth of Jesus Christ is drawing closer. Many people have already budgeted for the celebrations that will climax with the Christmas Day on 25th December. However the story can’t be the same for some communities.

The celebratory mood is about merry making and  can be achieved in different ways.

On Friday morning, FUFA travelled to Masulita to extend its generous hand to the children at the Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) Orphanage centre.

It was an early Christmas gift to the kids let alone meeting some of the big wigs in Ugandan football.

The FUFA Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities have been taken to Missionaries for the Poor in Kisenyi, Luzira Upper Prison, Arua Children’s Remand Home and St Paul’s Church in Kumi.

The mood at UWESO Centre changed drastically but positively and in a joyous mood from the kids as the visiting FUFA delegation led by FUFA Vice President and Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs Hon Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi arrived to officiate as Chief Guest at the event.

The kids greeted the Minister as they reached out for the moment that saw their hands meet their special Guest.

‘I am humbled to be here because it is great to share with the children especially the vulnerable. This is the heart of the children activities in Uganda that is why we decided to reach out to this community through football’

‘We are here to join the efforts of our mother Janet Museveni who 30 years ago started this centre.  She also tries her level best to sustain it and ensure the comfort of the inhabitants. The football industry needs to give back to the community and that is why we are here to deliver items for the football family to make sure that you develop sports from a tender age’

‘It is a landmark because FUFA is such a big institution which anyone would like to associate with. The kids have been talking about FUFA President’s name Magogo. It is good they have socialized with FUFA people today’
