FUFA CSR Activity:

Mpugwe – Masaka
As it is a policy at FUFA to support communities through football, FUFA carries out a campaign to collect clothing materials for donating to the needy at the climax of the Stanbic Uganda Cup annually through Corporate Social Responsivity (CSR) activity.
FUFA delivered the items to the needy people in Mpugwe- Masaka at the headquarters of Nkobazambogo Youth Group on Friday Morning.
The handover ceremony was graced by the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo, FUFA 1st Vice President Justus Mugisha, FUFA 2nd Vice President Darius Mugoye, FUFA 3rd Vice President and also the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, FUFA EXCO Members, Buganda Region Delegate Stephen Semutono and Stanbic Bank Manager Masaka Branch Ronald Seruwagi.
During the ceremony, the CEO Nkobazambogo Youth Group Nsamba Emmanuel praised FUFA and Stanbic Bank for coming up with such a project that targets the needy. He further applauded the football governing body for picking up Nkobazambogo Youth Group.
‘We are pleased to be donated with clothing materials by FUFA and Stanbic Bank today. It is a great day for us. Many of the children in our group have a problem with clothing. This is a great opportunity for us and our people in Mukundwe. Said Nsamba CEO Nkobazambogo Youth Group
‘We have more than 500 people who are going to benefit from this donation. Particularly we also thank the President of FUFA for making us proud. It is your good leadership that has brought happiness to us. added Nsamba.
While making his remarks during the donation. FUFA President Eng. Magogo stated that FUFA used the power of the game to collect clothing materials that were donated to the needy people in Mpugwe.
‘As FUFA we are the football governing body in Uganda and we thought we can use it to help the needy people in the community and we came up with the CSR activity with Stanbic Bank. We used the power of the game to collect clothing material from football fans especially in Kampala. We used UnBound- an International NGO to direct us to those people in need and that’s why we are here today. Said Eng. Magogo FUFA President
Eng. Magogo also donated balls to children.
Meanwhile, FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Nakiwala praised Nkobazambogo Youth Group for standing up to support the needy people in Masaka.
‘Uganda has 7 million Children however here they are lucky among those to have the clothing materials from FUFA. We came up as FUFA to help the Children develop their talents so that they can earn a living from their abilities. There is a lot needed to archive the best talents and clothing is among those, that’s why we decided to donate to you what we received from the football community. I thank Nkobazambogo Youth Group for coming helping the needy people in Masaka.‘ Said Hon Minister Nakiwala
The Manager Stanbic Bank Masaka Branch Seruwagi commended FUFA coming up with such activity that helps the needy people and partnering with Stanbic during the process of collecting the clothing materials.
‘We are proud to be here with FUFA donating to the needy and we thank them for having us as the sponsors of Uganda Cup that this activity of CSR is part of. We came in as sponsors to use football as a tool to inspires the youths and children in the community. Such activity brings us close to the community.’ Said Seruwagi Stanbic Bank Manager Masaka Branch.
The collection of clothes begun two months ago at FUFA House Mengo and Stanbic Bank Branches.
The activity is part of the Stanbic Uganda Cup final between Proline FC and Bright Stars FC that will be played in Masaka Recreation Ground on Saturday 25th May 2019.
