Preparations for the 2016/17 FUFA Juniors League (FJL) kicked off on Saturday, 17th September 2016 with the age verification exercise.
Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has paid for the MRI scan at Mulago Hospital for each of the players registered for the 2016/7 FJL season.
All this has been under taken to curb on the rampant vice of using over aged players.
Eight teams attended the age verification exercise on Saturday at Mulago Hospital-Radiology Department.
These were; KCCA SA, Express FC JT, Jinja SSS JT, URA FC JT, BUL FC JT, SC Villa Jogoo JT, Lweza FC JT and JMC Hippos JT

The exercise resumes on Sunday with the other 8 teams namely; Police JT, Proline JT, Bright Stars JT, Soana JT, Sadolin Paints JT, Vipers JT, Onduparaka JT and The Saints JT.
Background:
The FUFA Juniors League (FJL) was introduced in 2015. It is now a mandatory requirement for all the 16 Uganda Premier League clubs to have a junior side.
Regulations for quotas in player registration have been drawn to utilise products of the FJL in the AUPL
Meanwhile, FUFA will host the CECAFA U17 Championship in January 2017.
FUFA will pay the monthly salary of the head coach of each of the U17 sides of the AUPL.
Vipers Junior Team is the reigning champion of the FUFA Juniors U-17 Elite League.
