- The league will resume on 2nd October with seven games on card in the FUFA Juniors League

FUFA has confirmed that referees who uderwent the FIFA Youth Refereeing course at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru last month will be appointed to handle all matches of the FUFA Juniors League this season. The course was for participants below 20 years.
The Juniors League for clubs in the Azam Uganda Premier League for the 2016/17 season will be launched on Friday 23rd September at the Philip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
The FUFA Referees Manager Samuel Egesa has released the appointments made by the FUFA Referees standing committee.
‘These young referees will fit in well with the players of almost their age. FUFA has taken football to various parts of the country and we are now giving different stakeholders to handle matches after attaining the proper qualifications’ said Egesa.
Referees named for the opening match
Emmanuel Opio from Bukedea (North East) will officiate the opening match between KCCA FC Soccer Academy and Police FC Armless Brigade Junior Team.
Opio will be assisted by David Ssengonzi (Kampala region), Beine Bernard (Western Region) and Mukasa Abdul Razak (Eastern Region).

‘We have finalized plans for the launch of the new season on Friday.
Teams have received the equipment donated by FIFA in support of youth football development in Uganda’ said FUFA Youth Development Officer Bashir Mutyaba.
FUFA has also confirmed that no club will be allowed to use players who have not undergone the mandatory MRI tests conducted at Mulago Hospital of players to establish the true age for the U-17 category.
Teams receive equipment
Equipment donated by FIFA include a full set of jerseys-20 pieces, 20 shin guards, 20 football boots, 20 training bibs and 15 soccer balls were distributed to the clubs on Thursday morning at FUFA House in Mengo.
The handover ceremony was witnessed by FIFA Technical Development Officer Govinden Thondoo and FUFA Technical Director Asuman Lubowa.

‘It is clear indication that FIFA and FUFA have continued to support football development at youth level’ said FUFA Technical Director Lubowa.

Vipers SC Junior Team is the defending champion following a 4-2 penalty shoot out win over KCCA FC Soccer Academy at Kawempe Muslim Senior Secondary School sports ground in June.
