The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) elections for the Special Interest Groups (SIG’s) continued with a success on Tuesday at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.
Uganda Football Players Association (UFPA), Uganda Football Coaches Association (UFCA), Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) and Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) all voted for their respective candidates.
FUFA Electoral Committee Vice Chairperson Yusuf Awuye flanked by the committee support staff supervised and presided over the peaceful elections.
Edward Kalungi and Paul Mukatabala are the two players’ representatives who sailed through un-opposed to the FUFA Assembly.
Paul Ssali Mukisa and Stone Kyambadde returned as the coaches’ delegates (also un-opposed).
Deo Mutabazi with Anthony Tumwesigye are the beach soccer delegates (voted un-opposed too).
John Bosco Matisko and Farouk Kigongo also returned unopposed as the youth delegates.
Awuye was the returning officer in the players and coaches’ election as Stanley Kinene handled the Uganda Beach Soccer Association election.
Following the successful elections of the District Football Associations (DFA), Regional Football Associations (RFA) and Special Interest Groups (SIG’s), focus and attention will now switch to the women election then followed by the FUFA Executive elections.
Nominations for the FUFA Executive is slated for 10th – 22nd June 2017.
Declaration of the successful candidates shall be on 23rd June and the voting is confirmed for 5th August 2017.
