Newly elected CAF Executive Committee Member for CECAFA Eng. Moses Magogo has said that CECAFA needs concerted efforts to bring back the football glory days in the region.
Magogo who is also the FUFA President says that the entire region needs to pull resources together in football for the current and future generations to enjoy the game.

Magogo witnessed the CECAFA club championship final on Sunday in Kigali won by Ugandan champions KCCA FC-a trophy that had the Lugogo based side for close to 41 years.

He connected straight from Cairo to Kigali for the final. He was in Cairo for the CAF Assembly that ushered in a new team of Zonal representatives on the CAF Executive.

While at the VIP Lounge at Entebbe Airport, Eng. Magogo addressed the media and took them through the plans ahead.
‘We shall hold a strategic meeting with all the FA Presidents of the CECAFA Region here in three weeks’ time. We must reorganize ourselves to stand any chance to compete favorably with the rest of the African teams on the continent’ noted Magogo
‘If we are to achieve our vision of becoming the number one football nation in Africa on and off the pitch we must have strong neighbors in football. There are countries in our region that would be bidding to host big competitions but it should be more important that we prepare ourselves competitively’ added Magogo.

‘My new position on the CAF Executive provides you the chance to contribute to the ideas related to football that may help to the development of the game’ concluded Magogo.
At Entebbe airport, Eng. Magogo was welcomed by FUFA 2nd Vice President Darius Mugoye, 3rd Vice President Hon. Nakiwala Kiyingi and FUFA Exco Members, Hajji Abdu Sekabira, Ronnie Kalema and Hamid Juma. Hon. Hamson Obua (Ajuri County MP) and FUFA Deputy CEO Humphrey Mandu also attended the event in Entebbe.
