Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president, Eng. Moses Magogo has appreciated the Uganda Cranes team for the 1-0 victory earned away from home in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Togo.
I thank the Uganda Cranes players and technical team for the true spirit exhibited in the 1-0 victory earned away from home. It was a wonderful display. Half of the job is done, we need to complete the task during the return leg on Sunday.
The president was addressing the media in a press conference conducted at FUFA House on Friday.
Uganda registered a crucial 1-0 victory away from home when Farouk Miya scored a 40th minute diverted freekick from 25 yards.

With the return leg coming up at the Nelson Mandela national stadium on Sunday, Eng Magogo has called upon the football fans across the country to come in large numbers and cheer the team players throughout the course of the game.
Citing an example during the Uganda Vs Angola game in the recent past played at Namboole, the fans played a tremendous role to see the Cranes win the game.
During the Angola game, the Cranes were down by a goal. However, the fans and players did not lose hope, we managed to equalize and ended up winning the game 2-1. I rally for the same supporting spirit.
The winner on aggregate over the two legs will qualify to the group stages.
