FUFA announces Cranes squad for regional tours


The Federation of Uganda Football Associations(FUFA) technical team has released a list of 22 players who will be involved in the Cranes regional tour of the Country.

The same players together with the foreign players will be used in preparation for the forthcoming Nations cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea on 19th July at Mandela National stadium, in Namboole.

The Cranes ‘Na Mutima” campaign  will see the National team players tour all FUFA’s eight regions starting with Western between 27th and 29th June. The project will help garner country-wide support for the team in the ongoing Nations Cup qualification encounters. The tour that kicks off in Western region on 29th June at Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara was officially launched today at the headquarters of Moringa Ogilvy in Bugolobi.

Mbarara and Soroti are the Towns in the regions that have been selected to host the exhibition matches during the weekend of 27-29 June and 4-6 July respectively. During the tours, the Cranes will play exhibition games against the respective regional select sides.

Goalkeepers: Odonkara Robert, Ochan Benjamin, Watenga Isma

Defenders: Wadada Nicholas, Iguma Denis, Isaac Muleme, Majwega Brian,  Richard Kassaga, Savio Kabugo, Isac Isinde, Jjuko Murushid

Midfielders: Ivan Ntege, Allan Kyambadde, Muzamil Mutyaba, Kiwanuka Gadaffi, Miya Faruk, William Wadri, Joseph Ochaya

Strikers: Okwi Emmanuel, Kiiza Hamis, Brian Umony, Olaki Francis
