The inaugural FUFA Stakeholders Cup is set to take place on Friday, 4th July 2025, at Royal Park Butema, with action kicking off at 2:00 PM. This brand-new initiative, approved by the FUFA Executive Committee (Excom), is a brainchild of the Federation’s President aimed at promoting unity and teamwork within Uganda’s football ecosystem.
Originally designed for six teams, the tournament will also feature two additional teams — the FUFA President’s XI and the Host Community Legends — who will not take part in the main competition but will instead play a special exhibition match. This final fixture of the day will be played on an open field in an 11-a-side format, adding a ceremonial close to the day’s activities.
The core tournament comprises six teams, including a combined Buganda & Kampala side, a combined Northern & West Nile team, a joint Western & Kitara side, a combined Eastern & North East team, and separate teams representing the FUFA Secretariat and FUFA Media.
All matches in the main competition will be played in a 7-a-side format. Each team is required to register a total of 12 players, including at least two females. During every match, one of the seven players on the field must be female. Should a team fail to meet this requirement at any point during the match, they will be required to play one player short.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, Rogers Mulindwa, Chairman of the Organising Committee, stated that the FUFA Stakeholders Cup is a new initiative by the FA President and was approved by the Excom. He added that he was mandated to organise the event and, being the first edition, they have so far registered huge milestones. He further noted that the tournament targets to foster unity and teamwork among the football family through competitive participation on the pitch.
To recognise and reward excellence on and off the pitch, FUFA has set aside prize money for both team and individual achievements. The winning team will receive UGX 2,000,000, the second-placed team will walk away with UGX 1,000,000, while the third-placed team will earn UGX 750,000. Additionally, there will be individual awards of UGX 200,000 each for the Fair Play award, the Most Valuable Player (MVP), the Top Scorer, and the Best Goalkeeper.
