FUFA Super League: Can Soana complete a double over KCCA FC?

FUFA Super League

Tuesday fixtures

Soana vs KCCA, Kavumba

SCVU v Entebbe, Namboole

If there is anything KCCA FC head coach George Nsimbe will diligently avoid at the moment, it is losing a game. It doesn’t what competition his team will be playing in now. The Kasasiro Boys fell out of the CAF Champions League at the hands of Zambian side Nkana Red Devils over the weekend.
They will need to switch their focus on domestic football as they have three  games in 7 days-one of them against Sports club Victoria University (SCVU) on 18th March at Namboole stadium.
Today’s encounter-many KCCA FC would not want to be reminded what happened to heir side in the first round.
Truth be told, Soana have been a huge revelation since joining the top flight at the beginning of his season.
When the two teams met in the first round, Soana emerged 2-1 winners at Lugogo. Nsimbe was put under pressure by the club fans.
However his team responded in style in he following game hammering another New comer Bright stars FC 4-1 on the same ground.

Both Nsimbe and club chairman Michael Okua expect maximum concentration (from the players) in the league to brighen their chances of returning to the continental scene next year.

Nsimbe is praying that his first choice goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola is fully recovered after he twisted his ankle in the champions league match on Saturday.

“I hope he (Jamal) will be fully fit otherwise he twisted his ankle and I wanted to substitute him but he insisted and played to the end,” said Nsimbe on Monday.

In fact, Soana FC has managed to beat traditional Super League sides KCCA FC and Express (2-1) and only lost to SC Villa (2-0) in the first round of the league. Last week, they also beat SCVU 1-0 at Namboole.

They are currently third on the Super League table with 36points in 20matches and a win today will see them relegate now leaders Vipers (37points) to the second place otherwise KCCA (30points) lying eighth will move to the sixth place.

On the other hand, SCVU is chasing their ninth win that should narrow their gap with the top three on the table when they face second from botom on the table Entebbe at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in the other game of the day.

Entebbe is the only team yet to pick up maxim points in the league this season. However after holding Vipers to a 1-1 draw last Friday,  Entebbe will be hoping to ride on the 1-1 draw with SCVU last September to try to turn their fortuunes.
