The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has landed a prestigious award for its outstanding contribution towards the socio-economic transformation on the African continent through its various calendar activities.
The year 2016 was considered by the organisers who looked at FUFA’s activities like FUFA Women Elite League, FUFA Big League, FUFA U-17 Juniors League, Live Your Goals-football programme designed for young female, beach soccer, grassroots football and various courses in coaching, administration and refereeing to have contributed a lot in people’s lives.

Uganda Cranes qualification to the AFCON Finals for the first time in 39 years was also considered by the organisers.

The award was given to FUFA at the awards ceremony organised by the Africa Leadership Awards at a ceremony held at Imperial Royale.
The FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo attended the ceremony and later received the award following invitation by the Awards organisers.
‘It is a great honour to be recognised by continental institutions like Africa Leadership Awards. Our cardinal role is to change many lives through our various football activities. We are happy for this award as it depicts those moments when people recognise our efforts’ said FUFA President Eng. Magogo.
The award organisers also recognised other high profile men including the President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and women for exhibiting the best leadership skills to attain greater heights despite minimal resources. KCCA Executive Director Jennier Musisi was also recognised for her exemplary work towards development of the Ugandan capital Kampala and support toward KCCA FC.
