Kampala Queens reclaimed top spot in the FUFA Women Super League after a brilliant performance against She Maroons FC.
The Queens of Soccer put up a five-star display to defeat She Maroons FC 5-1 on Sunday at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Justine Najjuko tapped into her own net as early as the 8th minute to give Kampala Queens the lead before Hasifah Nassuna who was returning from injury doubled the lead with a stunning freekick a minute later.
Catherine Nagadya, Zaina Nandede and Sumaya Komuntale added a goal each in the second half to complete the rout.
The consolation goal for the Prison Sentries came from Winnie Kyomugisha.
The result helped Kampala Queens FC reclaim top spot, moving to 16 points, one ahead of Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC who were held to a goalless draw at Asubo Ladies.
Like it has been over the years, the game between Kawempe and Asubo once again was closely contested.
Kawempe who missed several key players such as Samalie Nakacwa, Jolly Kobusingye and Shakirah Nankwanga failed to find the cutting edge.
On the other hand, Asubo had chances to win the game but Kamiyati Naigaga and debutant Esther Namataka failed to convert.
Elswehere, Wakiso Hill WFC were stunned at home by Lady Doves thanks to goals from Norah Alupo and Lydia Nyandera.
Uganda Martyrs played out a one-all draw against Makerere. Angel Auki got the equalizer for the Kiddawalime Girls after the hosts had taken thw lead through Sharon Namatovu.
In Mukono, UCU Lady Cardinals had to come from a goal down to defeat Rines SS WFC.
Amina Nababi fired Rines into the lead but the University side were able to win 3-1 with goals coming from Harima Kanyago, Meble Kusasira and Catherine Nakidde.
