Kunihira opened the scores as early as the fourth minute when she found space inside the area to slot home.

Kampala Queens overcame the early nerves and grew in confidence as the game progressed. Rukia Namubiru, Fauzia Najjemba and Lillian Mutuuzo had attempts but all failed to find the target.

Sharon Naddunga nearly doubled the lead for Kawempe Muslim in the 16th minute but her low drive went a few inches wide.

A minute later, Juliet Nalukenge also got a chance but she shot direct at goalkeeper Joan Namusisi.

At the other end, Najjemba was fouled outside the area by skipper Aisha Nantongo but the resultant free kick taken by Namubiru was poor.

Kampala Queens had a good start to the second half with the introduction of Sophia Nakiyingi and they seemed to be on top.

Nakiyingi at the mercy of an empty net failed to tap home when Lillian Mutuuzo skinned through Kawempe Muslim back line to set up the former in the 62nd minute.

They were penalized for their wastefulness with Kawempe Muslim going the other end to score through midfielder Rhoda Nanziri.

Substitute Nassazi who replaced Naddunga in the 67th minute scored three minutes after coming on, heading home from Samalie Nakacwa’s corner kick delivery to stretch the lead.

With two minutes on the clock, Nandago put the game to bed with an easy tap in after being teed up by Nalukenge.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies celebrate the fourth goal.

Kawempe Muslim will return to action on Tuesday against Uganda Martyrs High School who won 1-0 against Makerere University.

Kampala Queens on the other hand will seek redemption on Wednesday against Uganda Martyrs High School.
