FUFA Women Super League: Nassuna scores twice as UCU Lady Cardinals overcome resilient Isra Soccer Academy

FUFA Women Super League

UCU Lady Cardinals 3-0 Isra Soccer Academy

Hasifa Nassuna was instrumental as UCU Lady Cardinals dug deep to overcome a resilient Isra Soccer Academy side in the first game on Friday.

The lethal forward and skipper of the 2019 Winners scored a brace while Teddy Najjuma added the other to guide their team to a 3-0 win.

The brace took Nassuna’s goal tally in the League to 91 since 2015 while she was at Kawempe Muslim Ladies.

Isra Soccer Academy proved a hard nut to crack and marched UCU Lady Cardinals for the larger part of the game.

However, their resolve was broken in the 79th minute when defender Flavia Nalwanga failed to clear the ball and instead gifted to Nassuna who did no mistake to fire home.

Three minutes later, midfielder Teddy Najjuma jumped high to node home from a corner thus doubling UCU Lady Cardinals’ lead.

Nassuna once again appeared on the score sheet, scoring at the death of the clock as the team marched to victory.

UCU Lady Cardinals now move to 6 points in three games and will face Olila High School on Saturday for their final group game.

On the other hand, Isra Soccer Academy who have conceded 11 goals will end the group fixtures against She Corporate.
