FUFA Women’s Cup 2020: Registration for 4th edition opens up

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially opened up registration for the 4th edition of the FUFA Women’s Cup for all Clubs across the Country.

The registration fees for FUFA Women Super League and FUFA Women’s Elite League are Ug. Sh. 100,000.

The regional league teams will each pay Ug. Sh. 70,000 while non-league teams will register at a fee of Ug. Sh. 150,000.

Payments are made through the FUFA Ecobank Bank Account Number 0060096105476004 (Ndeeba Branch).

The process for registration is to run for 19 days and will end on 31st January 2020 however draws.

The fixture will be organized and released by the 12th February 2020.

Meanwhile, only Clubs that will fulfill the registration process by 31st January shall have the mandate to take part in the Competition.

Brief History:

Makerere University Women Football Club is the reigning cup holder after successfully winning the trophy in the final against Lady Doves FC.

Olila High School won the 1st edition in 2017 in Busia, UCU Lady Cardinals lifted the 2nd edition in Sheema Bushenyi before Makerere University grabbed their first-ever football trophy in 2019.

Lady Doves midfielder Leticia Nabbosa was the MVP of the 1st edition, UCU Lady Cardinals striker Maureen Kinavudori took the MVP of the 2nd edition and Makerere University play-maker Aminah Nababi was named MVP in the previous competition.

Fazila Ikwaput playing for Olila in 2017 finished as the top scorer of the 1st edition with 5 goals, In 2018 Sharuwah Nakayima of Bugiri Town View was the top scorer whereas defender Shadia Nankya finished at the top with 7 goals in 2019.
