FUFA confirmed FIFA referees to handle the highly anticipated FUFA Women’s Final match between Lady Doves and Makerere University WFC slated on Saturday 8^th June 2019 at the StarTimes Stadiums Lugogo-Kampala.

FIFA Referee Diana Murungi will be in charge as the Center Referee.

Catherine Nagadya and Lydia Nantabo Wanyama will be the 1^st and 2^nd assistants respectively.

Catherine Ayaro Catherine is the 4^th official.

Nantabo is the only official returning to the same final for the second successive time after serving as an assistant in the 2nd edition final in Kabwohe.

The final will register a new champion in history since the 2^nd edition Cup winners UCU Lady Cardinals were defeated by Kawempe Muslim in the round of 32 as well the 1^st edition champions Olila HS WFC was eliminated on the quarterfinal stage by Lady Doves.

Road to the final:

Lady Doves began their title campaign at the round of 32 with a convincing 7-0 win over Wakiso Hills in Masindi.

At the Round of 16, Lady Doves eliminated Kampala Queens WFC by 3-0 in Kampala before benefiting from the advantage of Olila failing to show up in the quarterfinal game that confirmed a walkover for Lady Doves.

In the Semis, Lady Doves drew 2-2 in regular time with 2^nd edition runners-up She Corporates however when the game progressed to kicks from the penalty mark Lady Doves won 3-2.

On the other hand, Makerere University WFC started on a high note by edging FUFA Women Elite league counterparts and 1^st edition runners-up Gafford Ladies 3-0 in the round of 32. The former eliminated Bugiri Town View before defeating Kawempe Junior 3-1 in the quarterfinals.

During the semifinals, Makerere overpowered Echos HS 5-0 to progress to their first ever Cup final.

Both teams have never met in any competition and this will be their first head to head encounter.

Olila HS WFC players lifting the 1st edition trophy of the FUFA Wome’s Cup

Lady Doves midfielders Riticia Nabbosa and Lillian Veronica are the only players in the final who have ever played the Cup final.

Nabbosa lifted it with Olila HS WFC during the 1^st edition in 2017 while Veronica lost in the final with Gafford Ladies the same year.

The last three final matches have produced 4 goals. Cissy Nantongo (Olila HS WFC) Evelyn Kakayi (Gafford Ladies) Mercy Nabulobi and Hasifah Nassuuna (UCU Lady Cardinals) are the players who have ever scored in the final of FUFA Women’s Cup.
