FUFA Women’s Cup: Hunt for round of 16 slots concludes this weekend

Remaining round of 32 Fixtures

The battle to secure slots into the round of 16 for this year’s FUFA Women’s Cup will come to a climax this weekend at various grounds.

With nine teams already confirming their berths into the next round, seven slots are still available and they will be taken by close of business on Sunday.

2018 runners up and reigning FUFA Women Super League Champions She Corporate will make attempt at winning silverware in this competition, considering the League is far from reach.

The Nakawa based side make a trip to Mukono on Saturday to take on Dynamic SS Jjeza, starting life without Phiona Nabbumba who officially joined Danish outfit B93 this week.

Kawempe Muslim who have a had a rich history in the League but luck has eluded them in the knockout competition will hope to overcome Taggy High School at the round of 32.

The other games on Saturday will see non-league side Lubaga Women FC under the stewardship of Shafik Mutebi take on FC Tooro Queens, Wakiso Hills visit St. Noa Girls while Lady Doves will face Bunyaruguru Girls.

There will be two fixtures on Sunday with Kyambogo University hosting Isra Soccer Academy while Lango Queens make a daunting trip to Fort Portal to face She Game FC.

Holders Makerere University, UCU Lady Cardinals, Uganda Martyrs, Asubo Gafford Ladies, Kampala Queens, Rines SS, GYCO Girls, Olila High School and She Maroons are the teams that have already qualified to the round of 16.
