Games played over the weekend

She Corporate and Kawempe Muslim are some of the teams that secured their slots into the round of 16 for this year’s FUFA Women’s Cup over the weekend.

With nine slots taken prior to the weekend, only seven were up for grabs in the games played on Saturday and Sudnay at various grounds.

Like it was the case a week ago, the big wigs took care of their respective opponents to sail through with releative ease.

In Bukerere, Mukono, She Corporate obliterated Dynamic Jjeza, winning 5-0 thanks to goals from Susan Atim, Cissy Nakate, Anita Arinda, Noeline Namiiro and Barbara Adwero.

Kawempe Muslim also overcame Taggy SS, winning the game 2-1. Hadijah Nandago and Shakirah Nyinagahirwa scored a goal each for Warriors.

Elsewhere, She Game from Fort Portal City stunned Lango Queens at Buhinga Stadium. Normal time ended 1-1 but the former won 4-2 on penalties.

Sharon Kanyiginya let FC Tooro Queens off the hook against a resilient Lubaga WFC side. The teenage striker got the lone goal of the game to send her team through.

Isra Soccer Academy were 3-0 winners over Kyambogo University while Lady Doves also eased past Bunyaruguru Girls, winning 3-1.

The dates for the round of 16 will be communicated by the FUFA Competitions Deaprtment.
