Gafford beats Western, Nabweteme-Nassuuna partnership hits 40 goal mark for Kawempe in the FUFA Women Elite League

Rivals Kawempe Muslim Secondary School women Football Club and Gafford Ladies have maintained their top form as they close in on the FUFA Women Elite League play offs.

Gafford the only team to beat reigning champions Kawempe in successive league season (in 2015 and 2016) traveled to Western Uganda and defeated home side Western United 4-0. Sophie Annick Madudu scored a brace for the visitors while star player Nahimana Falone got the other. There was also an own goal by Kanyesigye Rebecca as Gafford won 4-0 against Western United.

Hasifah Nassuuna (2nd R) netted twice to take her tally to 18 this season. Nassuuna and Nabweteme have maintained their deadly partnership as they have scored a combined 40 goals in the FWEL this season so far.

Defending champions Kawempe were 5-0 comfortable winners over Makerere University’s She MAK.

Sandra Nabweteme netted two to take her tally to 22 goals while Hasifa Nasuuna also scored to make it 18 this season in the league. Nabweteme and Nassuuna have scored a combined 40 goals in the league this season so far. Favor Nambatya
