Uganda Cranes shared the spoils with Kenya Harambee Stars in a 1-1 affair during a FIFA World Cup 2022 group E qualifier at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Against the run of play, Kenya took the lead when captain Olunga headed at the back post past goalkeeper Charles Lukwago.

Lukwago had moments earlier shown elements of class when he denied a one against one incident with Samuel Ouma Onyango.

Bayo salvaged a point for the hosts with a goal after Kenya’s goalkeeper Brian Bwiire hesitated to quickly handle the ball.

In the other group E contest, Mali progressed to the next stage of the qualifiers with a sublime 3-0 win over Rwanda in Kigali.

Uganda Cranes will play the final game away from home against group leaders Mali on Sunday, 14th November 2021.
