Hassan Wasswa: We know what is at stake, 3 more players join Uganda Cranes camp

Uganda Cranes continued with training on Sunday morning as three more players joined the non residential camp at the  StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo ahead of the Total 2019 AFCON qualifier against Tanzania on 8th September 2018.

Hassan Wasswa (El Gaish) Isaac Muleme (Haras El Hodood) and Denis Iguma (Kazman FC) joined the team and attended the morning session. The trio flew into the country last night.

Wasswa is one of the senior players in the the squad and has promised Ugandans the players know what is at stake.

‘ We have not come here for holidays but to win against Tanzania. It is all about staying focused and working hard. This is the right time for our team to go back to AFCON. This is a game of a lifetime. We will only play for a win. We are well motivated and all players are ready to give in their best. We respect Tanzania but we are sorry for them we have to fight and get three points off  them’ said Uganda Cranes assistant captain Hassan Wasswa.

The Cranes assistant Coach Mathias Lule affirmed that they are set for the match and believes the five days with the players will be enough to have the best preparations.

‘We are set for our next game against Tanzania. We are expecting  more players from Europe and South Africa to join us by end of tomorrow’ noted Lule

Twenty (20) players took part in Sunday’s training that was conducted by head Coach Sebastien Desabre and his assistants.

Moses Opondo (Vendsyssel FF), Kizito Luwagga (Bate Bolisov) Edrisa Lubega (Reid), Derrick Nsibambi (Smouha), Godfrey Walusimbi (Keiser Chiefs) and Miya Farouk (HNK Gorica) are expected in camp by end of Monday.

Uganda Cranes is leading the 2019 AFCON qualifier Group L with 3 points from the only game played so far in the campaign away in Carpe Verde.

Lukwago Charles (KCCA FC) and Sebwato Nicholas (Onduparaka FC), Awany Timothy (KCCA FC), Mujuzi Musitafa (Proline FC), Isinde Isaac (K JSS FC), Taddeo Lwanga (Vipers SC), Waiswa Moses (Vipers SC), Ibrahim Sadam Juma (KCCA FC) Kizza Martin (SC Villa), Kyambadde Allan (KCCA FC) and Patrick Kaddu (KCCA FC).

Other players are; Hassan Wasswa (El Gaish), Isaac Muleme( Haras El Hodood), Denis Iguma (Kazman FC), Murushid Juuko (Simba FC), Nicholas Wadada (Azam FC), Joseph Ochaya (Lusaka Dynamos), Yassar Mugerwa (Fasil Kenema), Aucho Khalid (unattached) and Emmanuel Okwi (Simba FC).
