StarTimes FUFA Big League 2021 (Match Day 8) – Results for Monday, 17th May 2021
Rwenzori Group: Terrazo and Tiles 3-1 Luwero United
Elgon Group: Kataka 1-0 Calvary
Match day 8 of the StarTimes FUFA Big League concluded officially concluded on Monday, 17th May 2021 with two games which produced home wins for the respective clubs.
In the Rwenzori group, Terrazo and Tiles overcame Luwero United 3-1 at the Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara city, Western region.
Emmanuel Balyejusa (penalty), captain Patrick Waliggo and Khamis Rwothomio scored the goals for Terrazo and Tiles who had head coach Robert Ssekweywama taking charge of his first ever game at the club.
Henry Musisi found the consolation for the visiting Luwero United.
This was the first win for Terrazo and Tiles since they were promoted from the Western regional league.
Both Terrazo and Tiles and Luwero are making their debut in the StarTimes FUFA Big League.
Away in Mbale, Kataka smiled 1-0 over newly promoted Calvary from Yumbe. Tiff Kahande scored the all important goal for Kataka at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.
Kataka ascended to third position with 15 points, only one adrift from Arua Hill and Gaddafi.
The FUFA Big League action returns with match day 9, starting on Wednesday, 19th May 2021 through to the next day.
Three clubs shall be promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League by close of business of the StarTimes FUFA Big League.
The two clubs earn direct sporting promotion whilst the third one is determined via a promotional play-off.
