Kawempe Muslim, Bulo Parents win big at 2018 UMEA Solidarity games

UMEA Solidarity Games 2018:

Finals (Boys’ Football):

  • Kibuli S.S 0 (4)- 0 (5) Bulo Parents

MVP: Moses Aliro (Kibuli S.S)

Top Scorer: Valentino Opendi (Kasawo S.S) – 7 Goals

Finals (Girls’ Football):

  • Kawempe Muslim 1-0 Masaka S.S

MVP: Mariam Nakabugo (Kawempe Muslim S.S)

Top Scorer: Sharon Nadunga (Kibuli S.S) – 7 Goals

The 2018 Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) Solidarity Games successfully climaxed at the Mbale Municipal Stadium on Easter Monday.

Bulo Parents and Kawempe Muslim Secondary Schools successfully won the boys and girls football trophies at the 2018 UMEA games hosted by Nkoma S.S and assisted by Mbale S.S.

Kawempe Muslim, despite missing three of their star players (with the Uganda Crested Cranes team in Machakos) over came Masaka S.S 1-0 in the girl’s final with Stellah Musibika scoring the lone strike on the day, a free-kick from about 25 yards.

In the boys final, Bulo Parents won 5-4 in post match penalties after the 90 minutes of normal time had failed to produce any goals.

Derrick Menya, Hussein Makanga, Joseph Dhata, Akibaru Ssentongo and Shafiq Kibirige scored their kicks from the penalty mark.

Adinan Ondoga had earlier missed his kick from the penalty spot.

Herbert Achayi, Moses Aliro, Sadad Anaku and Joel Jangeyambe for Kibuli as Solomon Okello was denied by goalkeeper Abdallah Kisitu and Ismail Mukalazi hit the cross bar.

Kibuli, however won the overall title.

Next year’s games will be co-hosted by Kasawo Islamic and Kasawo S.S.
