Kawempe Muslim reign over Kampala Queens

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC condemned Kampala Queens FC to their first defeat of the season as the two teams faced on Wednesday at MTN-Omondi Stadium.

The game marked the resumption of the FUFA Women Super League that had gone into a break since Mid November last year.

The highly anticipated encounter lived to the billing with several fans turning up in Lugogo.

The visitors who have enjoyed good history over Kampala Queens FC continued with their dominance, picking a 2-0 win.

A brilliant display right from on set saw the Valley Warriors claim maximum points and bragging rights on the day.

Versatile player Agnes Nabukenya orchestrated the damage, scoring twice in the first half.

From kickoff, Kawempe were in control of proceedings and indeed showed their composure.

The opening goal came in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a howler by goalkeeper Daisy Nakaziro.

Lukiya Namubiru passed back to the goalkeeper but her clearance only landed into the path of Nabukenya who drilled home from close range.

With a minute to the mandatory break, the visitors doubled their lead.

Nabukenya popped up inside the box to tap home Samalie Nakacwa’s well delivered cross.

Despite efforts from Kampala Queens FC in the second half, Kawempe Muslim were able to keep them at bay.

Victory takes Kawempe Muslim joint top on the same number of points (10) as Kampala Queens FC who have a game in hand.
