The Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) challenger project of laying an artificial turf at the KCCA Stadium in Lugogo has kick started on Monday with the official ground breaking ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by the FUFA president, Eng. Moses Magogo, KCCA Executive Director, Jenifer Musisi, FUFA CEO, Edgar Watson, FUFA Executive committee member, Hamid Juma, FUFA officials, KCC players, fans and the media.
Officiating at the ground breaking ceremony, the FUFA president, Eng. Moses Magogo hinted on the genesis of the project that was awarded by FIFA.
It is a project that less privileged FIFA member associations can apply. We applied as FUFA and it was granted. I thank KCCA F.C for being cooperative
KCCA F.C Chairman Julius Raymond Kabugo appreciated FUFA’s efforts to have the turf laid at the home of the 10 time league winners.

FUFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edgar Watson hinted on the need for the artificial turf because of the busy schedule of the playing facility.
KCCA Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi once again lauded FUFA and FIFA for choosing the KCCA ground.
“We thank FIFA and FUFA for this project. We have already paid the tax required and shall continue to professionalize the game at this great club as we uplift the general standard of football in the country” she said.
The project will be handled by Edel Contractors Limited, a company from the Netherlands.
The management of Kampala City Council Authority football club plans to have floodlights at the stadium once completed by four month’s time.
