KCCA FC tops in FUFA Club Licensing exercise

Seven clubs have received certificates after meeting requirements for the FUFA Club Licensing exercise for the 2016/2017 season.

However seven others were handed provisional licenses up to January while two others Express FC and The Saints still have some requirements to meet before they are issued with licenses.

At the FUFA Weekly press conference attended by the President Eng. Moses Magogo, Chief Execuitve Officer (CEO) Edgar Watson and Club Licensing Committee Chairman Dr. Patrick Bernatrd Ogwel, clubs were handed their certificates.

‘The exercise helps clubs to gauge their status and also meet certain requirements before the new season. We are glad that the exercise went on smoothly’ said Ogwel.

‘Express FC and The Saints have until 12th August, 2016 to complete the exercise. Our offices are still open to give support and guidance to the two clubs’ added Ogwel

The exercise also paves way for the clubs to receive their sponsorship monies from Azam TV.

‘We know the clubs have been inconvenienced but we wanted to release the funds to clubs that had passed the test of the club licensing. The sponsorship funds will be transferred to the clubs’ accounts immediately’ said FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo.

Magogo also highlighted the importance of the licensing exercise.

‘Professionalism starts with clubs. That’s why FUFA has launched the Clubs Pro Agenda in Lira starting with Sporting United and Bright Light before spreading to football hubs in Mbale, Iganga, Masaka, Mbarara, Arua and Masindi’ said FUFA President.

‘The Clubs Pro Agenda will help clubs run football at a professional level. Results will be results in the near future’ further said Magogo.

The clubs that received full license are; KCCA FC who topped followed by BUL FC, Bright Stars, Vipers SC, Sc Villa Jogoo, Kirinya Jinja SS, Soana FC,

The clubs which received provisional licenses are; Jinja Municipal Hippos FC, Lweza FC, Onduparaka, Proline FC, Police FC, Sadolin Paints FC, URA FC.

Yet to complete the exercise: Express FC, The Saints FC
