The news of Haruna Kebba being asked to make choice between either coaching or refereeing instructorship has caught the football fraternity by surprise. The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) also believes that it is huge blow for the sport. However FUFA insists that Kebba is still very valuable to football.
‘Kebba is a resourceful person that we can’t afford to lose’ said Sam Mpiima-chairman referees standing committee.
Kebba doubles as head of coach FUFA Super League side Kiira Young and referees Instructor but his two positions are causing concerns from some circles in football.
This has prompted the FUFA Super League (FSL) board to write to Kebba regarding his current status.
‘We are handling the matter. We shall come up with a way on how to handle this scenario. But the FSL board has written to him as it could cause conflict of interest’ said Vice president-FSL Mujib Kasule.
The federation will devise means of securing more courses to improve numbers of FIFA referees Physical fitness instructors in Uganda as currently Kebba is the only one the country boasts of.
