The FUFA Competitions Committee has affirmed Boma football club as the new Kitara region winners and will play in the FUFA Big league for the upcoming season 2015/16.
The development follows the evidence presented by Boma alleging Sun City, who had won the earlier final 1-0 of using ineligible players.
Boma Young FC filed a formal petition with FUFA concerning the two players namely; Iddi Bukenya and Kasereka Mbusa.
The committee discovered that indeed the two players were not licensed by FUFA.
In their petition, Boma Young FC stated that ‘It has been necessary to petition FUFA since the regional Chairman was already involved in insisting that these players play the game and so we would not get a fair hearing at the Region’ read part of the petition letter. Such act if proven can attract disciplinary sanctions by the FUFA Disciplinary Committee.
Boma Young FC is the FUFA Kitara Regional League club eligible for application for 2015/16 FUFA Big League club licensing.
Appeal
Should Sun City FC be aggrieved by the decision of FCC, they are free to file an appeal to FUFA Disciplinary Committee through the office of FUFA Chief Executive Officer as provided for within the FUFA Competition Rules.
Match Officials and other officials
In accordance with Art 21(17) of the FUFA Competitions Rules, here below
17) Any match official who is proved to have knowingly or unknowingly incorrectly reported incidents about a match he officiated shall be liable to disciplinary action by the FDC.
The Competitions Committee established that, match officials contravened the above provision of the regulations by officially reporting that “The match started at 4:05 pm and ended at 05:48 pm without any problem”, yet in the photographs presented by the petitioner, the same referee appeared in the photos taken-both front and back view capture produced by Boma Young FC as part of evidence to support the petition.
