FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo has hailed the club licensing process and the committee that handled exercise.
The FUFA Licensing Committee is headed by Dr Bernard Patrick Ogwel.
This committee was tasked to verify the clubs’ paper work together with the physical requirements as required by FUFA after a recommendation by CAF and FIFA.
The FUFA President stated that club licensing is an obligation which is stated in the statutes of FIFA, CAF and FUFA and when an obligation is not fulfilled there are sanctions.
The FUFA President stated;
Club licensing is the agenda of FUFA, CAF and FIFA. It is not a formality and a punishment. This is another level to football professionalization in the country ,Club licensing brings out a true picture of professionalization.
The FUFA President commended the licensing Committee together with the clubs that hit the grades with flying colours. Five clubs KCCA ,URA, Vipers ,BUL and Express did a tremendous job to fulfill the licensing requirements.
He later asked the other 10 clubs to accomplish minor requirements as to be fully licensed.
“Club licensing is not a formality nor a punishment but an obligation and failure to fulfill the requirements may lead to denial of a license to feature in the FUFA competitions” he added.
Dropping of standards may lead to withdrawal of the license, therefore clubs have to up their standards to retain their license.
The president also hinted on two other aspects – FUFA vis-a-vis FSL affair prior to the league and that of propagandists, whose major purpose and cause of calling is to bring the beautiful game of football into disrepute.
FSL has 17 mandatory share holders whose ordinary shares are transferred at the start of each season. The tenure of the current FSL board expired and elections must be conducted . We need to ensure proper membership of the FSL Board, which FUFA is the regulator,special shareholder an with veto powers.
The FUFA President also hinted on the readiness of Azam Television the league sponsors to televise the upcoming league matches contrary to false information in the ‘news corridors’.
